About Me
I live in a small town in upstate New York --- which in no way stops me from being out of the closet and very vocal locally. I'm a mom, and a grandmom. I manage apartments for my landlady (trust me, it keeps life from ever getting boring - or quiet!) and babysit. I've practiced the Craft for something like 20 years. I own several groups on Yahoo, including one to help fight child predators and one for Pagans who are as dissatisfied as I am with the political/social/religious climate we're putting up with today. Animal protection and endangered animals are another concern of mine, as well as taking care of our Mama Earth.
Music
Laura Powers, Loreenna McKennit, Blackmore's Night, Robert Mirabal, Gypsy, Emerald Rose; Jewel, Stevie Nicks, The Corrs, Heart, Rob Thomas, INXS (the original version please), Aerosmith, Sting
Movies
Dogma, Lady In The Water, Rose Red, Pirates of the Carribean (both), The Order, DaVinci Code, Mist of Avalon, Merlin......so many more!
TV
CSI and Law & Order (all of 'em!), Close to Home, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Without A Trace, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Supernatural, Heroes, Jericho; TLC, Discovery, History Channel and National Geographic Channel programming
Books
Natural Witchcraft, Spiral Dance, The Earth Path, WitchCrafting, Women Who Run With Wolves, The Crone (and anything by Barbara Walker), The Pagan's Muse; most anything by Marian Green, Starhawk, Barbara Ardinger, Kerri Connor, and Jane Bolen; for fun, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, and Nora Roberts books (except the romances), Dream Spinner (by my friend Bonnie Dobkin) and Diary of a Fairy Godmother (supposed to be a young readers book but it's terrific)
Likes
People who listen as well as talk, openness, being out in nature, spending time with my sisters in Circle, good movies accompanied by popcorn, fresh air, autumn colors and weather, the first snow, nighttime
Dislikes
Minds so tightly closed you couldn't open them with a crowbar; prejudice and bigotry; being told what to think or that my beliefs are wrong; people who think they know everything; irresponsibility; and the fact that we live in a world that is becoming more and more dangerous. I dislike the current administration. I dislike also the fact that the world seems to be crawling with pedophiles and abusers ready to prey on the most innocent of all, our children.
Hobbies
Gardening (herbs and flowers), houseplants, making small crafts, reading, movies, collecting anything with moons or Goddesses
Vices
Smoking, being impatient with myself, and often pushing myself too hard
Virtues
Courage, ingenuity, curiousity, honesty, patience, sense of humor, and organization. How's that, LOL?
Heroes
Starhawk, Z. Budapest, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Shekinah Mountainwater, and everyone who is not afraid to stand up for what they believe and know to be true, and blaze a trail for others to follow.

I just signed up to the new Earth Hour website for 2008 and I thought you might like to take a look and possibly sign up too. Earth Hour is on 29 March 2008 at 8pm, and it looks like it's going to be really big. So far, as well as Sydney, there'll also be Chicago, Tel Aviv, Manila, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Brisbane and Toronto all turning off their lights for an hour in the name of fighting global warming. And I'm sure there'll be more cities by March. Sign up for Earth Hour with me by visiting http://www.earthhour.org/user/P9vB and join the movement. "My Unique Family" on the Learning Channel
Tuesday, February 6, 2007, 05:59 PM [General]
Aha, did you think I was talking about my own unique family? Hope you're not disappointed, the answer is no, LOL. Actually I just thought in case anyone hasn't heard about it yet, there's an episode of the Learning Channel's new show "My Unique Family" scheduled to air Monday, February the 19th called "The Witch Next Door". For the longest time, I wished there was more television programming portraying Witches and Pagans. After some of the more recent fiasco's, wow, I'm not so sure. However, this particular show should be vastly different. Here's hoping! "Crystal Visions: The Very Best of Stevie Nicks"
Sunday, February 4, 2007, 07:27 AM [General]
"CRYSTAL VISIONS... THE VERY BEST OF STEVIE NICKS" CD/DVD Package Scheduled for March 27 Release Nicks to Perform at Super Bowl Pre-Game on CBS This Sunday BURBANK, CA -- February 01, 2007 -- Stevie Nicks, one of the most successful female artists in rock history and the embodiment of the transcendent power of music, is scheduled to release "CRYSTAL VISIONS... THE VERY BEST OF STEVIE NICKS" on March 27th; it was announced today by her label, Reprise Records. "CRYSTAL VISIONS" is an extraordinary collection of songs from the multi-platinum, multi-Grammy Award winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee's stunning three decade career as a solo artist and member of the legendary Fleetwood Mac. "CRYSTAL VISIONS... THE VERY BEST OF STEVIE NICKS" opens with the original mastered studio version of "Edge of Seventeen" and closes with a live performance of the song recorded last summer with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. In between are Nicks' classics including "Stand Back," "Leather and Lace" and "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" with Tom Petty. The CD also has a live version of "Landslide" (also recorded with the Melbourne Symphony), "Rhiannon" and a knock-out version of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll." Other standouts are a haunting version of "Sorcerer" sung with Sheryl Crow which was originally on Nicks' "TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA" CD, the Deep Dish dance remix of "Dreams" and "Silver Springs" from the original master of "RUMOURS" -- a cult favorite which appeared only as a b-side to "Go Your Own Way." The DVD component of "CRYSTAL VISIONS" offers 13 Stevie videos with voice-over commentary by Nicks as well as an audio interview by journalist David Wild. Also included on the DVD is a never before seen Stevie Nicks home video which was filmed during the making of the five-times platinum "BELLA DONNA" album. The accompanying booklet will have original Stevie Nicks art work as well as photographs and personal pictures hand-picked by the artist representing a cross section of iconic pictures spanning her entire career. Stevie Nicks is scheduled to perform this weekend (Feb. 4) at the Super Bowl pre-show in Miami this Sunday airing on CBS and is headed back to the famous Collosseum at Caesars Palace for a return engagement of her specially conceived critically acclaimed show on March 20, 21, 23 and 24. This Spring, Nicks will embark on a national concert tour with Chris Isaak. Dates for the tour to be announced.
